Chilling with the Reclining Buddha

No tourists, but 3rd largest reclining buddha statue

I decided to stay one more night in Hat Yai … this purely based on the fact that I was tired and the hotel for $30 USD a night was actually not too bad … so I stayed and caught up on the posts.

After canceling the next night hotel booking in Bangkok, I looked at my other options traveling north. I also did a search on Hat Yai. Here are a couple of wikipedia facts

1) Largest City in Southern Thailand and 945km from Bangkok
2) were some bombings a few years back due to unrest with foreigners
3) 3rd largest statue in the world of the reclining buddha

So off I went … on a hot day and took these nice 360 degree spheres.  I record pretty much everything on my trip.  and was fortunate to capture the following on my chest-held GoPro.  With the music playing in the temple courtyard … I realized after sitting in front gaze of the reclining Buddha that this might be something special that I am capturing.  I did a simple edit of 2 clips. One of the 1st temple site – Wat Khok Samankhun, which I stumbled on while walking to the main reclining buddha site. Then after entering the Wat Hat Yai Nai temple from a street market selling all fresh meats and vegetables, I could hear music but did not know from where. When I got closer there were open speakers in the courtyard and I just walked around.
To see the video, you can click here for the video page. The video is 1st attempt at editing and is a simple edit. When I first loaded it on Youtube it detected the music and warned of a copyright claim. But gave me the option to monetize the video with a sharing option copyright owner(s) So as this is all about learning, we will give this a go.

Hoping to capture and do more interesting content editing as we continue the trip.
